One of the things I’ve noticed lately is that Bean is hungry for the company of others, particularly other kids. Our family over here isn’t terribly large, and when it’s just us three at home she’s generally pleasant. But watching her in a big crowd, or even with her cousin, you can see that she’s dying to talk to others, make faces at them, play with them. We took her to the playground on Sunday, and she was only marginally interested in the slide and the swings and whatnot.
The rest of the time, she was watching other kids, or following them around, or trying to get them to notice her by pulling faces.
So we’re considering sending her to nursery school a few half-days a week starting in the fall. For now, there’s a school that has a one-hour play group that T might swing by with her, to see if it’s a nice place.
Of course, SOME PEOPLE would say that this is a sign I should have another baby ASAP. To which I reply: One child in nappies at a time. This is my ironclad rule.
